Congratulations, you have found the perfect lot to build your dream home on. Now you are looking for the ideal builder to provide your dream home. There are so many steps necessary to break ground in your new home.

Lot Purchase:

Once you have purchased your lot Walker Custom Homes can help you with the lot layout and design the home placement. There are many factors to consider when building a home on your lot. Slab height, retaining wall necessity, tree clearing, slope of the property and much more. The land will determine many factors, so it is ideal to discuss these factors prior to making a decision on your home’s location.

Architect:

If you have not met with an architect to design your dream home Walker Custom Homes can walk you through this process. This can be one of the most time consuming steps in the process but also one of the most important. Walker Homes and Remodeling will provide you with a highly qualified architect and be involved through the entire process.

Design Phase:

At this point you will meet with a decorator that will help you determine all design aspects of your home. Designing and choosing all the different products and features of your home is one of the most enjoyable aspects of the home building process.

Permitting Phase:

At this point, permits will be applied for. This process can take 45 to 60 days.

Construction Phase:

Prior to construction beginning a meeting will take place to walk the lot, review all design choices and the plans. At this meeting a schedule will be discussed. The overall build time has many different factors and is dependent on those factors. Therefore, the build time will be discussed at this time. On average it can take approximately 5 weeks per 1,000 square feet of construction under the roof.

Walker Custom Homes will work with you to design your dream kitchen and prepare you to minimize the downtime without your kitchen. The goal is to provide you your dream kitchen in an efficient timeframe, leaving you as the customer 100% satisfied.
